Tucker's Death

Postby 1Robert » Sat Dec 14, 2002 6:05 am

Preston Tucker was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1956. He went to South America to seek treatment from a former American doctor who was reputed to have a cure cancer. Also by going to South America it fit into Preston's plans on building the new "Tucker automobile". After being in South America for awhile, he wanted to get back home, and against the advice of his doctor, flew back to Michigan. He came down with pneumonia, and they also believe that due to the flight back from South America, he suffered bleeding in his lungs as well (he was put on oxygen for part of the flight home). He died December 26, 1956. No autopsy was done, but according to Charles Pearson's book, the doctor's examinations showed that the cancer had been arrested before Preston died.<br>
